Default Positives/Negatives For GW

Positives

- Lots of area to explore
- Fun missions
- Cool classes
- Cool skill system
- Beautiful graphics
- Fast combat, with no downtime

Negatives

- Repetive PVP (Which is a huge chunk of the game) (Least it seemed repetive when I tried PVP only)

- Not much to do at 20, and the road to 20 is short

The negatives are 2 very huge things, it attracts PVE players for the first 20 levels, then forces them into PVP and PVP is rather repetive. Comeon, I cant see myself doing PVP for more then a month, let alone a year or 2. Im completely on the fence to whether or not I should buy this game. Anyone else feel the way I do?

You are missing the point, my friend. Nevertheless, if leveling up is all you want to do in an "RPG", then Guild Wars is definitly not for you.

ArenaNet promised to constantly update Guild Wars via their streaming technology and release a multitude of expantions to add much more content.
Also they promised branching paths (however I have yet to see those), meaning your actions determine the consequences.

Leveling isent "all" I want to do. I dig PVP, but its just repetive. What else can you do at 20 beyond PVP? Nothing of great value. I just want choices other then PVP to keep me occupied for years. I mean, comeon, your only gonna be able to kill so many bad guys on the same old maps.

We've been told repeatedly that they're holding back the level 20 content until release, and according to ArenaNet there will be lots of content for ascended characters.

I don't find PvP repeditive, except in the Ascalon Arena, but it's really only there to get your feet wet.

PvP is not repetitive at all. Did you ever go on a Tombs run or play in GvG ? Thought so. It's obvious you don't like PvP if you've never played in an organized team. PUGs and Arena are just lame, find yourself a guild and I promise you things won't get repetitive. As for the subject of level 20, that's exaclty what ANet wanted to have; a game where you don't have to spend 3 months grinding in just to be able to go heads up against 12 year old kids who skip school to grind. GW is just getting better with every new BWE and if they're hiding content for retail then I just can't wait to see it.

True for the BWE, but there will be much more content for high levels come release.

Btw, did you try the WaW content? This should fulfill your BWE PvE lvl 20 dreams (or it will be your worst nightmare :P).

FROM THE COMPANY

20 IS IT INCLUDING ALL FUTURE CONTENT

Guild Wars, in contrast, is based around your skill as a player. Our maximum level is twenty and you hit that very quickly, after about 20-30 hours of play. ,We call that 'The Point of Ascension'. Almost all of the content in the game and in the future Chapters is only available to Ascended characters, which means we don't have to worry about providing different levels of content. All the good stuff will be available to everyone. It's not our intent to force people onto the levelling up treadmill, so the level cap in Guild Wars is almost meaningless.

Anyone ever played on a good NwN server when there was a level twenty cap? It was less about leveling and more about collecting good items. GW is likewise.

there are no super game balancing breakers either

nice to have and give an advantage but you have to work for them and it still wont give a poor player an unbeatable advantage over a very good player

pc gamer add

left page big warrior hundreds of hours played dead

right page less than 40 hour played elementalist the victor

Negative:
-You can't jump off ledges (you cant even jump at all :\ )

the ledge thing has probably been around since the game was created, but i just think it makes sense to be able to drop/jump off ledges.

It's still only Beta! All the negatives will be ironed out once it's fully released. What will be the highest levels then? 100?

EDIT: I do hope Dreamsmith doesn't comment on my use of pictures. I just couldn't find a way to emphasise on the "20" enough.

I'm fine with a 20 cap. I'd rather spend my time hunting down artifacts than powerleveling, which *most* MMO devs don't seem to realize... In fact, I think I'd prerfer the level 20 cap.

These guys are correct: There is a great deal of content not yet revealed, and Level 20 is not the be-all and end-all of the game, trust me on that. There's... this place... and ... that mission... not to mention this Boss Monster and this race of creatures who...

Well, to me it sounds like everyone is assuming and expecting their will be such a great endgame, with loads of missions and items to collect. How do you guys know that?
